Asalnya nak buat burger sendiri, dari patty sampailah ke rotinya. Bolehlah buat burger saiz besar sikit & lebihkan daging. Tapi stok daging dari pasar tak muncul-muncul (tukang belinya si suami), jadi saya pun malas dah nak menunggu. Beli ajelah patty yang dah siap. Saya suka beli brand ni sebab tak oily sangat bila dimasak.

Resepi bun ni saya ambil dari allrecipes . Rotinya agak padat & milky sikit tapi gebu. Kalau nak kurangkan rasa milky tu boleh gantikan susu degan air suam.
Original recipe makes 1 dozen
1 cup milk
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup butter
4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 (.25 ounce) package instant yeast - 9 gms or letak 1 tablespoon yeast
2 tablespoons white sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 egg
Directions
In a small saucepan, heat milk, water and butter until very warm, 120 degrees F (50 degrees C).
In a large bowl, mix together 1 3/4 cup flour, yeast, sugar and salt. Mix milk mixture into flour mixture, and then mix in egg. Stir in the remaining flour, 1/2 cup at a time, beating well after each addition. When the dough has pulled together, turn it out onto a lightly floured surface, and knead until smooth and elastic, about 8 minutes.

Divide dough into 12 equal pieces. Shape into smooth balls, and place on a greased baking sheet. Flatten slightly. Cover, and let rise for 30 to 35 minutes.
Bake at 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) for 10 to 12 minutes, or until golden brown.
For Hot Dog Buns: Shape each piece into a 6x4 inch rectangle. Starting with the longer side, roll up tightly, and pinch edges and ends to seal. Let rise about 20 to 25 minutes. Bake as above. These buns are pretty big. I usually make 16 instead of 12.
Since doh ada lagi berbaki separuh, saya wrap & simpan dalam peti sejuk. Boleh disimpan 3 hari atau bekukan 3 bulan.
Selang beberapa hari, baki doh saya keluarkan & bentukkan menjadi roti hot dog pula. Saya hasilkan 8 biji hotdog dari doh tadi. Itupun saiznya dah agak besar berbanding hotdog saiz biasa. Cara nak bentukkan menjadi roti hotdog sama macam nak buat french baguettes ni. Daripada 8 ni 5 aje yang habis dimakan, 3 lagi saya simpan peti semula.

Jangan stim lama-lama, cukup sekadar melembutkan roti aje. Kalau roti bukan dari peti pon boleh distim sekejap untuk ekstra lembut (macam Dunkin Donut or Hotdog 1901 buat tu..). Dah siap tu bolehlah letak sos cili, mayonis/mustard, black pepper dll. Kalau nak tambah sayur-sayur pon boleh. Memang yummy lah!!

Saya ambil separuh doh, potong kepada 6 bhgn. 4 saya bulatkan dan bakar, 2 lagi saya bahagikan kepada 2 bhgn lagi (untuk junior burger). Jadi dapatlah 4 burger biasa & 4 junior burger |

Roti dibelah & sumbat hotdog. Ada stok mini sosej aje, jadi saya sumbat 3 sekaligus. Pastu stimkan sekejap. Mini sosej ni saya dah stimkan sebaik keluar dari peti beku tadi. |
